Full-Time Paraprofessional

Osage County Interlocal Cooperative (OCIC), located in Hominy, is looking to immediately hire a paraprofessional to work in Pawhuska Indian Camp School. The position is considered full-time and will work a 7-hour day with an additional 30 minute unpaid lunch break. The duration of the job is for only the days that students are in the regular school session. The starting pay rate is $8.05/hour. Health insurance is covered at 100%. One paid sick day is given each month. To be eligible the applicant:

  1. Must pass a felony background check;
  2. Must have (a) completed two years of study at an institution of higher education; or (b) obtained an associate’s (or higher) degree; or (c) met a rigorous standard of quality and be able to demonstrate passing score on an online paraprofessional test. This paraprofessional test is administered at the OCIC office and cost $55. A study guide is available at no cost. The test fee will be reimbursed if the applicant passes the test and the person is hired by OCIC.

There is a Native American hiring preference. Please note tribal citizenship on application, if applicable.

The primary focus of the paraprofessional’s job duties is to provide specific academic interventions to a small group of students or one on one. The paraprofessional will be directly supervised by a certified teacher and will receive training to administer the appropriate intervention. The paraprofessional may assist in the classroom or pull out students to another room for one on one or small group instruction. They may be asked to perform a daily duty such as recess, cafeteria, bus or crosswalk.

Instructional Technology Coach

Instructional Technology Coach will be responsible for implementing project goals and objectives for a newly funded education, innovation and research grant; team-teach and model project instructional strategies for project; work with schools and project staff to identify, assess, and obtain curricular resources; train and coach teachers in classrooms for effective use of technology-based materials and resources; work with technology consultants to create and maintain a presence for the project on the Web; develop and provide workshops and follow-up trainings on intentional technology strategies for all three tiers. Salary based on experience.
